Crystalline Butterfly Vase

Stoneware clay moulded into 100% vitrified & stable ceramic, glazed in recycled wood ash glaze. The molecules in the mixture are positively & negatively charged, when the flux pulls them together as it drips down the pottery in their kiln firing, it creates a nucleus and from that nucleus grows life. A crystal.

The flaw on this piece is its uneven base. The glaze dripped and forced the piece to attach itself to a kiln cookie. The piece as a result sits unbalanced and rough on the bottom. A shame as the design of this vase is perhaps my favourite ever. Vase is still stable when sat upright on a slant. But it is not recommended to put heavy bouquets of flowers within. But perhaps a smaller bunch of dried flowers would work perfectly. 

Still hoping to rectify this piece further and if I am able to flatten the base any further (which seems unlikely) I will do.
